August Krogh Centre opening symposium
20 April 2012 a new centre in the name of August Krogh will open at the Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen.
The vision for the August Krogh Centre is to facilitate and increase visibility of research in the field of Metabolism and Molecular Physiology.
By various initiatives (meetings, symposia, courses) and common activities (fundraising, core facilities), the August Krogh Centre will create a common platform within the field of Metabolism and Molecular Physiology from which the Danish research tradition in physiology at the Faculty of Science can be maintained and expanded in the recognition that: If we have seen further it is only by standing on the shoulders of giants (Isaac Newton, 1676).
The August Krogh Centre idea was fostered by researchers associated with Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Department of Biology, and The Natural History Museum of Denmark.
